Cafe Amarti-Abbotsford

One of my favourite local cafes, Amarti is always a good bet for some good coffee. Nonetheless, even with my familiarity of this spot, I had to go back and give it a formal review.

It’s always a very cozy, inviting atmosphere when you enter the doors of Amarti. While it’s usually a very busy spot, it doesn’t feel like it. It’s very calm and relaxing. The service adds to this sense of “inviting-ness”. The baristas are always so nice and friendly. You can tell that they take great pride in their work, and it’s something that shows in their beverages as well. As cliche as it might sound, they really make it seem as though you’re part of one big, happy family.

As I have with every review so far, I ordered the standard latte. The foam was very good. It wasn’t the best I had ever had, but it was close. It was still smooth and silky. Breaking the mold some of the other lattes I’ve reviewed, Amarti lets the espresso do the talking. It definitely has a bolder flavour to it, something that I love. Yet, there is a hint of cocoa, which really cuts the overall boldness of the beverage that would certainly turn some people away. As I got closer to the end of the drink, I realized just how rich tasting this latte was. Even so, I didn’t feel “heavy” after. It was a very nice balance. Well done Amarti!
