Located in historic Downtown Abbotsford, Boardwalk has quickly become a staple of the neighbourhood since opening their doors in 2016. They have an impressive collection of board games on display (over 400!), all of which are available to play while you are there. It’s quite the sight to see. Additionally, the fact that it isn’t a massive space makes it feel more cozy and inviting.
The staff is always top notch. They take time to chat, ask questions, and help explain the rules to any of their games on hand. They are very inviting and make you feel right at home.
Granted, their main focus is board games, but you know me, I was there for the coffee. As is tradition, I ordered a latte and received a pretty decent one. The foam was the best part of the beverage. It had a great consistency- good body, held up really well as I drank it. The espresso, while slightly on the fainter side, still managed to come through. However, it was not as strong as I normally like in my lattes. Overall though, and especially coming from a board game cafe, it was a decent latte that exceeded my initial expectations going in. Thanks for the pleasant surprise Boardwalk!
