Well Chilliwack, you’re officially two for two on coffee trucks. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Matt and Jess (owners and operators of Merci) with my Jess (spooky, I know). Coffee people, for the most part, are a friendly bunch, and Matt and Jess are no exception. We had the opportunity to chat coffee for a bit, and these two definitely know what’s up. Anyway, nestled in the cozy Garrison Crossing area of Chilliwack, Merci has been serving up some delicious drinks out of their cute little truck for a few months now.

I ordered a latte and my first impression was incredibly positive. Not only was it very smooth and creamy, but the espresso was definitely the star of the show. It was lively, and really bounced around in your mouth- a wonderful surprise and something that sets this latte apart from others. Merci uses espresso from Pop Coffee Works based in Toronto. The specific espresso they use is called “Boogaloo Juice”, and boy is it ever good! The lively bounce of this espresso was balanced out nicely by smooth, caramel notes. In addition to this, I got both hints of a nuttiness and a little fruitiness. Overall, it was a very, very good latte and a great time all the way around. If you find yourself out in Chilliwack, Merci is a must-stop! I will definitely be back. Merci, Merci!
