Holy, where has this year gone!? It’s hard to believe that we are pretty much at the halfway point of 2021. With that in mind, and as you might’ve guessed from the title, today I’m taking the opportunity to reflect on my three favourite coffees of 2021 thus far (in no particular order). Let’s go!
Infusion Cask Coffee (Whisky Infused Coffee)
When I was making notes on this roast, I starred the heck out of this one because I knew this was going to be featured in my top roaster list at the end of the year. I remember this coffee being so distinct and special, especially when it came to the tasting notes. This has easily been my most memorable roast I’ve tried this year, and don’t be surprised if it makes it at least into my top three by December. Heck of a job by the folks at Infusion Cask, and a really solid coffee that I would highly recommend.
You can check out my original post on this coffee here, and show Infusion Cask some love over on Instagram.
Pirates of Coffee (Panama Geisha)
I’ve been a huge fan of Pirates since they first launched. As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve yet to have a coffee from them that isn’t top notch. This Panama Geisha was no exception. While I only got myself a small bag of it, you better believe I savoured every last drop. This was an all around great coffee, the intense fruity notes especially.
Pirates of Coffee has a fantastic line-up of coffee that you can check out here. And you can find my original post on this coffee here.
Black Fin Coffee (Empower Blend)
The most recent coffee on this list, the Empower Blend is from Black Fin’s PNW Protector’s collection (a worthy cause in and of itself. This particular blend of coffee I found the most dynamic of the the bunch. Again, this one was quite fruity and refreshing. A solid coffee to say the least.
As always, check out Black Fin on Instagram here and you can find my original write up on this coffee here.
Ta-da! There you have it folks, some of my favourite coffees I’ve tried so far this year. Before I go, just wanted to tease what’s going down this summer on the blog. TONS of new roasters and shop reviews! Also, I’m just going to put this out there: if you are involved in the coffee industry in some fashion and would like to do a short interview with yours truly, let me know!
Alright, that’s it for today. Until next time, cheers!
