Well guys, it has been a hot minute since I’ve done a cafe review, but here we are, back at it! (Let’s see if I remember how to do this haha). Politano Cafe is located on a cozy corner, with ample outdoor seating options that wrap around the front portion of the building. Inside, they have a few knick-knacks available to browse as well as a cool shelf stuffed to the gills with used books! In terms of the vibe of the cafe, in my opinion Politano does a good job of balancing “touristy elements” with a classic, clean-cut design. Anyway, enough interior design talk, let’s get to the coffee.

I decided to try one of my all-time favourite coffee beverages, the flat white. Overall, it was quite good. The espresso (Oughtred’s Reserve Espresso) was quite spicy (think pepper) upfront. The milk was smooth, velvety, and provided a nice balance to the spiciness of the espresso. As you get deeper into the flat white, the espresso smooths out, offering notes more along the lines of caramel. This creates a delicate mix of sweet and spicy that I quite appreciated. As I said, overall, this was quite a nice flat white. I just felt like it was missing a little something to push it over the top, I just couldn’t put my finger on it. Even still, congrats Politano on a job well done, I will definitely be back!
