Welcome to the second part of my Beach Camp Coffee Co. series. If you missed part one, you can check that out here. In this edition, I check out Beach Camp’s Botanical Bold Roast. As you know, traditionally, I would never have considered myself a dark roast guy. However, over the course of the past two years, I’ve found a lot of decent dark roast coffee. This one is no exception.

The aroma on this roast was quite rich and hearty. Caramel and chocolate notes both came through, as well as a slight nuttiness. I found the taste quite smooth and balanced, especially for a dark roast. The nuttiness really comes out of its shell in the taste and couples well with the chocolate notes. I detected a bit of a fruitiness on the back-end which really helped refresh the roast. Overall, I thought this was a really nice, gentle dark roast that was quite elevated and had some great tasting notes. Again, another solid option from Beach Camp. I’ve been really impressed with them so far. Stay tuned for the third and final installment sometime in the coming weeks!
