Farm & Forest- Darkwoods Espresso

Before we jump in to this week’s post, I’d just like to remind everyone that there is still time to enter my giveaway over on Instagram. Head on over to my page to check out all the details! You can win either a bag of this coffee, or the roast featured in my last post here.

Alright, on to the review. I’ve already discussed how great Farm & Forest is, not only as a company, but their coffee as well. Their Darkwoods Espresso is no exception to this. Aroma-wise, this roast was quite earthy, with chocolate and berry notes. It was definitely on the darker side, but it was also smooth at the same time- a nice balance.

In terms of tasting notes, it was very inviting upfront. I sampled this roast just as a pour-over first, but I can see how it would pair nicely with the milk of your choice. The chocolate notes hit first, mixed with a certain nuttiness. On the back end, I found more of a fruity complexion. It almost had the crispness of an apple with the sweetness of a berry. It was a very refreshing ending to this coffee. Overall, I found this to be another engaging roast from Farm & Forest. It was a very solid offering. Comparing this roast to the Selkirk Moose roast from my previous post, I can’t decide which I prefer- they were both amazingly complex coffees. Kudos to the team at Farm & Forest!

And again, don’t forget to head over to my Instagram page to see how you could win a bag of this coffee for yourself!
