It’s hard to believe that another year is almost in the books, and a crazy one at that. This year, I didn’t make it to as many new coffee shops as I had hoped, but, looking back, I still enjoyed the shops I did visit. Without further ado, here are my top 5 favourite coffee shops that I visited in 2021.
5) Politano Cafe
Located in my new home I moved to in the summer, Politano impressed with my first visit. They have a full menu of food and some really solid milkshakes. Their coffee menu is no slouch either. I would recommend checking them out if you’re ever in the area.
You can find my full review of Politano here.

4) Shatterbox Coffee Company
Downtown Victoria holds no shortage of great coffee shops and cafes for you to choose from and Shatterbox is one of those offerings that I really enjoyed. I had a really great cortado from Shatterbox and enjoying it in the atmosphere of downtown Victoria? You can’t beat that.
My review of Shatterbox is here.
3) Hullabaloo Coffee Truck
A bit of a hidden gem, Hullabaloo is just off highway 17a on Vancouver Island and they offer a whole variety of coffee related beverages. The best coffee truck I’ve been to since Merci coffee on the mainland. Again, I had a great cortado from Hullabaloo. They have some great seating surrounded by nature to enjoy your coffee in.
Check out my previous review of Hullabaloo here.
2) Quince Cafe
One of the first cafes that I visited when I moved to the Island, Quince is located in Sidney B.C. Just steps from the ocean, Quince has a beautiful spot on the main drag. I had a great latte from the. Unfortunately when I went, their seating was cordoned off, but it looked lovely inside.

My full review of Quince can be found here.
1)Good Kid Coffee
Shout out to my hometown and the whole team at Good Kid for taking the well deserved number one spot on my list! They’ve got a great space, tons of natural light, and some damn good coffee. Just writing this, I’m tempted to hop on a ferry and head to Good Kid.
